AT&T Mother's Day ad in bloom
Brentter has posted this AT&T commercial, which takes a different approach than the usual beat-people-over-the-head-with-your-latest-cell-phone-deal. Take a look. Somehow I'm seeing a connection between this ad and Haagen-Dazs' missing bees.

Ahhh nice find, the flowers do look similar! The difference in spots however is one is using the latest chart-topping-rap song to entice America's youth to buy their mom a phone for mothers day, while the other is a rather dramatic PSA sounding commercial about bees.
Something to note though, as I showed on my original post, the first, unedited version of the AT&T spot had an orchestrated soundtrack, all you would have to add would be an opera singer and it would have the same strange "vibe" that the Haagen-Daz piece gives.
Changing the music was the smartest move BBDOATL has made for the whole campaign.... almost too smart in fact, so far almost all mention of the new campaign has been from music/rap/R&B websites commenting on the use of the song for a commercial, not the brand/commercial itself! I guess there's a fine line between whether or not the spot made the song more popular....or the promotion.
Cheers + nice observation,
Brent
